Plankton wars
This was our plankton : ). Me and Jeremiah gave her a play-dough head and a sponge body, we stuck a marble and buttons on the bottom to give it some weight so that it could stand up and stay in between the water. We thought the the sponge would make our plankton float but we had to figure out how much more weight to put on the plankton so that it would stay in the middle of the water which was hard because you got to get it almost perfect for it to float in the middle. We came in second place we were 13 seconds behind the winner.
Adventure 6
In this spot we heard black birds and crows chirping and we seen a red cardinal fly from limb to limb above our heads. It was a warm day except for the wind that i thought was going to blow everybody over. In this picture you can see close up on a pine tree, this image brings the whole forest to life because not many things are alive in the forest in the winter time.
This is a downy woodpecker that Mrs. R found pecking at the tree above our heads. She managed to zoom in close enough so that you can see the beautiful colors of black, white, and red speckled across it's whole body. The tree the bird is in looks like it has a whit tint to it from the cold frost.
We found a tiny lizard squirming around under an old rotted down tree. It looked like a little snake at first but then my fellow classmate was brave enough to pick it up,
This is a warbler that Mrs.R found. I think this is a beautiful bird it had a gray and white belly with a yellow body. At this site i heard the wind, cars runnung in the distance, vultures croaking in the background. The wind was very strong today but the sun was shinning so it felt a lot warmer outside than what it really was.

Adventure 5 (Algae)
This is a small creek that we found in the woods, you can see the algae floating in the water. There is a shadow in the water from the tree above the water where i was taking the picture. I could hear andd feel the wind whipping my hair around my face and It smelled like mildew outside.
This is a different creek that has algae everwhere you can see some floating and some just swaying in the water. There are dead twigs and bushes around the pond. There are no signs of animal life here but there is definately a lot of plant life under the water.
Mrs.Richardson had just happened to have found this while i was walking with her through the woods. It was on the ground almost completely covered by dirt and rocks
and she just happened to spot it she said it was an old turtle shell. The turtle shell looked like it had been there for awhile it was thin and cracked in a couple of places but it was still a neat thing to find. This is just a small creek surrounded by rocks in the woods. There isn't very many signs of life but there is some moss growing around the sides of it. It was about 57 degrees outside today, but it was very windy and you could feel that spring time is coming soon.
This is algae in the big pond next to the bus lot behind the school. You can see the algae growing in the water next to the rocks. There were ducks swimming in this pond and you could hear them flapping their wings in the water, and when i watched them for a minute i could see that some of them were mating, which i thought was really neat. They would fly up in the air together and come back down to the water.

adventure 4 spot 3
This is a small creek with water running out of this town pipe that is undergroung. There are rocks and stones in the creek. The water is very cold from the below freezing temperature. There are no signs of life here at this point. However, there is grass and mulch that are starting to come back to life. It smelled like trash and i could hear the sounds of birds flying from tree to tree.
Adventure 3 spot 1
adventure 2 spot 4
This picture came out really dark for some reason, but this is the big pond that we found behind the school. It is a relatively big pond so i'm sure most animals use this as their main water source. Mostly there were nothing but dead weeds and plants aorund the pond and not too many signs of life. I heard water moving from the wind and i smelled pine.
adventure 2 spot 3
This is another creek we found in the woods there are some spots of green grass growing around it but most of it is dead. There isnt much of a smell..it smells like dead leaves and dead trees. I can hear the branches on trees whistling in th wind.
Adventure 2 spot 2
This spot was near the where the buses park so you can slightly see them in the background. I could hear the buses moving and wind whipping around my face and the slight scent of hay bails. There is mostly dead grass but you can see some green grass growing.
